Gathering
Chop trees, break rocks, fish, dig and plant: most of what you build and cook starts here.
Where you can gather
- On your own island and in the Overworld.
- In the Town you can only fish.
Harvesting
- Stand on a tree, rock, bush or plant and choose Harvest (Mine on a gold mine, Collect Water on water). Each harvest gives 1 and takes a few seconds, and you need room in your backpack.
- Trees, rocks and herbs turn into bare soil when they are used up, then grow back. Bushes and palms stay where they are and refill.
- An empty bush or palm can be cut down for what it is made of, but then it is gone for good and your reputation drops by 1.
- Grown Birch and Oak trees sometimes drop a seed on the soil next to them. It stays there for 2 hours.
What you can harvest
Fishing
- Stand in shallow water and choose Fish. When something bites, tap within 1.5 seconds to reel it in.
- Sometimes nothing bites, and sometimes you pull up junk: Seaweed, Tin Can and Old Boot.
- Lakes and rivers have different fish from the sea. Some fish only bite by day and some only at night, and your island is always in daylight.
- Leech and Narwhal only live in the Overworld.
- Your very first catch is always a Salmon.
- Fish can't be eaten raw or kept in the Storage Room: cook them, keep them in an Aquarium, or let them go in water they live in.

Digging
- Stand on bare soil and choose Dig. It costs 75 energy and opens a 4×4 board with 5 taps.
- Something is buried under the board. Uncover all of it to keep it. Run out of taps first and it stays buried.
- Sometimes it is a rock: uncover it and a rock appears on that spot, which you can then harvest for Stone.
- One square always hides 5 coins.
- You can dig the same spot again after 30 seconds.
What you can dig up, from most to least common:
The treasure chest

The bird
Now and then a bird pecks at the ground somewhere in the Overworld. Walk up to it and it flies away.

The chest
Dig where it was within 10 minutes to find a locked chest. It stays there for 24 hours.

The crow
A crow then turns up somewhere else, carrying the Silver Key. Walk into it and it drops the key.
Open the chest with the key for 50 coins, plus 1 more for each point of your active Folk's Luck.
Planting
- Stand on soil and plant a seed from your backpack. Buy seeds at the Flower Shop in the Town, dig them up, or pick them up under grown trees.
- Fertile soil helps a seed survive, and on dry soil most seeds die. Pour Fresh Water on soil to make it more fertile.
- Seeds grow on soil and red desert. Coconuts only grow on sand, and fewer than half of them take root.
- Herbs and tulips wilt after a while. Trees, bushes and palms stay for good.
- Tulips come in 4 colours, picked at random when you plant them. They are just for looks.
- Planting a seed raises your reputation by 2.
